Introduction
Periodontics is the Dental specialty dealing with the supporting structures of the teeth, as well as the diseases and conditions which affect them. The success of a dental treatment plan is highly dependant on the health of periodontium. Hence our goal is to restore the lost periodontal structures and the various esthetic problems caused due to periodontal disease.
- The department provides clinical instructions at both undergraduate and post graduate levels and the training is fine tuned to match competency levels.
- Students are taught the basic principles and concepts of periodontal diagnosis and the importance in sequential treatment planning.
- Patient education is given and they are put on regular recall or maintenance appointments for their well being.

Teaching Programme
The department of Periodontics teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Undergraduates have periodontal clinical case discussion with seminars on clinical posting. Clinical training aspects provide students with a wide and diversified range of clinical experience. Theory classes are conducted to enhance the knowledge of students with both basic as well as current scenarios in Periodontics.
Postgraduate training is designed primarily with clinical training and research. Journal clubs, seminar discussions and case presentations are also conducted. A wealth of academic expertise provides thorough practical education in advanced clinical periodontology, including aesthetic, implants and contemporary surgical methods.
